An AI Reviewer pass can now be followed live. Under the editor, the video is laid out in passages, with each agent's progress (grammar, spelling, punctuation, fidelity) and the corrections found so far. The agents' log tells the pass in sentences, “Fidelity read 04:00 to 08:00: 23 flags”, down to the proposals the validator dropped and why. A finished pass stays viewable from its card in the Activity panel.
The AI Reviewer is now picked at upload, with its per-minute rate shown and a summary of what it fixes before you buy. Your first review is free. At the end, a report counts corrections by category, highlights the words that changed rather than whole lines, and each one can be undone in a click.
A project is now shared like a video, and access follows: the person you invite sees every video it holds, including the ones you add later. A role granted on a specific video still wins over the project one, and removing someone from the project removes their access everywhere.
“eighty thousand two hundred thirty-seven” now reads “80,237”, and the conversion happens before reading speed is measured: the subtitle gains in legibility as much as in CPS. The spelling rule lives in the Briefing, per project, and applies to French and English alike.
“Retranslate this segment” no longer overwrites anything: a popover shows the new version, readable in one go, with “Show changes” for the detail. Apply, reject, or regenerate with an instruction. The proposal waits in the Comments panel until you decide; a subtitle you edited in the meantime is never overwritten, and Cmd+Z undoes the apply.
Subtitle Health gets a “Capitalization” section: any subtitle that opens a sentence with a lowercase letter, judged on the delivered text, hidden fillers included. Free, permanent, counted in the dock badge. Nothing after an ellipsis, an abbreviation or an initial, nothing on iPhone: it does not cry wolf.
After a first review, the dialog ticks for you “Only re-read the 3 subtitles changed since the last review”, and the price follows: checking your corrections no longer costs a full pass. And a subtitle made of fillers (“Um, you know, the...”), never flagged until now, gets a deletion proposal: Apply removes it, Cmd+Z brings it back.
Videos shared with you now sit in your list, with a pill naming the owner. A “Group” button arranges the page by role, project or tag; in grid view, groups become side-by-side columns, like a board. Each video shows its open comments, and an “AI Reviewer” column says what the review brought: “8 / 12 applied · 4 to handle”, and “View” opens the studio on the suggestions.

A button in the sidebar and in the studio. Describe it, attach a screenshot or a short clip, and follow each report: received, under review, planned, in progress, delivered. An email at every change.
Sharing a video finally emails the person. No Hello8 account yet? The invitation waits: access opens when they sign up, and they land straight on the video. By default they are a reviewer: they comment without changing your subtitles; switch their role in one click. Pending invitations can be revoked from the share dialog.
Create your own labels, with a colour, and put them on videos from Home, the multi-selection bar or the studio top bar. Filter Home by one or several tags. Renaming or deleting a tag applies everywhere. Included from Starter.
If you still work in the previous studio, a prompt offers to send your next video to 2.0. Your existing videos stay where they are and migrate when you decide. And if needed, we put a video back in the previous studio: just write to us.
If your balance cannot cover a video, Hello8 says so before uploading it, with the real cost and a link to plans. No more uploads for nothing.
Settings now come as four pages: Account, Plan and billing, Notifications, Appearance and language. Plan and billing lists your invoices, PDFs included; the Stripe portal stays for card changes.
The AI Reviewer dialog shows the price of every pass and the total on the button. Your briefing is right there, where it matters most.
A fourth detector, Fidelity, catches fillers, false starts and hesitations left in the subtitles when your briefing asks for readable or rewritten text. The number of findings now depends on content, not duration: a short but dense video is no longer capped at ten. A partial review says so, instead of showing a green card.
Your context is no longer sent verbatim on every call: a short summary replaces it, so your production sheet no longer drowns your instructions. And if too many subtitles come back empty, the translation warns you instead of being delivered.
From a pasted text you get the terms, but also style rules and a summary. Terms can be corrected before they are created; an acronym comes with a suggested expansion; every question says why it is asked. And a failed analysis says so, with a retry button.
The Briefing panel becomes a sheet: one row per decision (format, fidelity, length, speed, context, glossary, rules), with the value in plain words and where it comes from: you, the project, or the default. The same sheet shows at upload and in the AI Reviewer. Three fidelity levels (verbatim, readable, rewritten), a length slider whose preview comes from the real engine, and at upload, one line that inherits from the project.
Two cases where an edit was lost without warning are fixed: editing a subtitle then clicking straight onto another, and retouching a sentence then splitting or merging the segment without leaving it. Character and speed counters now follow your typing live.
Click Transcribe: you land on your video right away, and the upload becomes the first processing step. As soon as transcription answers, its text unrolls in front of you. Four readable stages, and the editor opens the moment the text is in, reading speed already fixed: nothing moves under your cursor any more.
The speaker count given at upload is honoured. Line breaks follow each language's rules. A failed translation warns you instead of being marked ready. The share dialog lists every collaborator. Everyone can delete their own comments.
The Quality panel shows, language by language, which subtitles were checked and which were not; a subtitle edited after the review goes back to “unverified”. Next to it, how often its suggestions were kept: eight out of ten, on a real campaign.
Before building your subtitles, Hello8 asks a few questions, one at a time: your names and terms, the format, fidelity to speech, length, reading speed. Two minutes, optional: no answer, nothing changes. Your proper nouns reach speech recognition from the very first pass, then translation and the AI Reviewer. You can answer while transcription runs.
Sign-up opens as a bottom sheet, and the processing screen shows progress as a readable list instead of truncated steps.
If our main engine is down or overloaded, your transcription restarts on a second engine by itself. Nothing to do on your side, and no double billing.
Fewer needless cuts, very short subtitles held up to one second so they stay readable, and overlaps reported in Subtitle Health instead of being patched silently. On our French tests, the worst reading speed drops from 85 to 35 characters per second.
The character limit now applies to the whole subtitle, not the line. Three bands, like reading speed: on target, slightly over (tolerance shown), too long. And “Re-split” really re-splits to the new limit, and stays undoable.
The catalogue grows from 32 to 90 languages, for transcription and translation alike: Vietnamese, Hungarian, Thai, Urdu, Bengali, Swahili, Amharic, Khmer and many more. Hebrew and Farsi, advertised but missing, are back.

When no speech is detected, the editor no longer stops: pick a language and write your subtitles on the empty track.
Pro now takes 3-hour videos (2 before), and files up to 2 GB upload without a hitch on Pro and Business. Studio 2.0 opens instantly, even on those long videos.
Editor, reviewer or viewer: choose what each person can do. Videos shared with you get their own section on Home, and the avatars in the top bar show who is working on the same video right now.
Cmd+F now replaces too. Replace every match at once, after confirming how many subtitles are affected; one Cmd+Z undoes the lot. Matches spanning several words are flagged, never changed blindly.
Cmd+Z undoes any gesture: a keystroke, a split across every language, a replace-all. Cmd+Shift+Z brings it back. And the history survives a page reload.
Font, size, colours, outline, position: twelve ready-made styles plus your own, saved. Drag a subtitle on the video to place it. The preview is the final render: the burned-in export uses exactly the same style. Burned-in export included in Pro and Business.
Open several languages at once: each active language becomes a column aligned with the original. Add one with the + button, with its own translation rules. Splitting a segment splits every language at once, and undoes in one step.
Group your videos and give them shared rules: per-language translation rules, context, glossary. Every video inherits them. Filter Home by project, move a video between projects from its menu. Included in Pro and Business.
The app now comes in French and in English. Switch from the sidebar, or in Settings, Appearance and language.
